Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

Your trust matters to us. MiRight is built on transparency, accountability, and respect for your data — in line with both Kenyan and international data protection standards.

1. Why Your Privacy Matters

MiRight is a youth-led NGO that believes access to justice starts with trust. That’s why your data — names, email, and usage details — are collected only to help us deliver better legal content, connect you with pro bono advocates, and improve user experience.

We strictly comply with the Kenyan Data Protection Act (2019), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – EU), and other global digital rights standards to safeguard your information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We only collect what’s necessary — typically your name, email, and any voluntary feedback you share. These are used to:

  • Provide tailored legal literacy materials and updates.
  • Connect you with verified pro bono advocates (with your consent).
  • Improve our digital services through anonymous analytics.
  • Enhance security, accessibility, and community engagement features.

You can withdraw consent or request deletion of your data at any time by emailing info@miright.co.ke.

3. Data Security & Compliance

Your data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We use secure servers and follow ISO 27001-certified cloud infrastructure practices. Our privacy measures undergo periodic review to remain compliant with:

  • Kenya Data Protection Act (DPA, 2019)
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU)
  • United Nations Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information — ever.

4. Third-Party Services

MiRight uses trusted partners such as Google Play Services, Firebase, and Analytics tools to help improve app performance. Each third-party service complies with GDPR and local privacy laws.

5. Cookies & Tracking

Cookies help us understand how you interact with our site so we can make it better. You can disable cookies in your browser settings anytime — we’ll still serve you essential content without restriction.

6. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child’s information has been submitted, contact us at privacy@miright.co.ke — we will take immediate action to delete it.

7. Policy Updates

MiRight may update this Privacy Policy periodically to align with new laws or digital security practices. The latest version will always be published here and effective immediately upon posting.
